International Human Learning Resources Network (IHLRN) is an organization that was begun by Virginia Satir in 1970 to foster human growth and development by means of a conference that focuses on innovations in family therapy and intervention tools that she and others had developed, and other recent developments.

WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL HUMAN LEARNING RESOURCES NETWORK - IHLRN.

Welcome to our website, we hope you enjoy your visit and learn more about our organization.

The major objective of the IHLRN is to build
on the legacy of Virginia Satir, founder and
co-facilitator of the first 17 conferences.

Originally restricted to persons completing a month-long seminar, the IHLRN conferences are now open to persons who have studied Virginia Satir's methods and to people interested in learning more about her teachings.

Our IHLRN conferences feature a week-long gathering that provides
a warm, friendly and positive setting for attendees to learn, grow and share.

Over the past four decades, our conferences have led to the formation
of a world-wide network of persons who hold similar values and
are interested in effective ways to learn, teach,
and practice how to be more fully human.

THE 2011 IHLRN CONFERENCE
October 16 - October 23, 2011
Le Grand Hotel - Tours, France

The 2011 IHLRN Conference will be held at the historic,
Le Grand Hotel,
located in the beautiful town of Tours, France.

Located on the lower reaches of the Loire River between Orléans and the Atlantic coast, Tours (pop. 142,000) is the largest city in the Loire Valley. Tours has long had a reputation as a conservative, bourgeois city, but the increasing numbers of commuters to Paris (about an hour away) have
livened up the town of Tours significantly.

The surrounding Touraine region is known for its wines, its châteaux,
and for the unaccented perfection of its spoken French.

October is an ideal month to visit France. The leaves are turning, and as
the peak tourist season has passed, there are fewer lines and crowds,
and more bargains on hotels and airfare.

IHLRN provides a scholarship fund for student practitioners and
encourages the development of new techniques.

Partners and/or significant others of participants have always been welcome. The number of attendees usually is kept between 90 and
120 persons in order to achieve a critical mass without becoming
too overcrowded.
