Crater Lake - Like No Place Crater Lake has inspired people for hundreds of years. No place else on earth combines a deep, pure lake, so blue in color; sheer surrounding cliffs, almost 2,000 feet high; two picturesque islands; and a violent volcanic past. The water of the lake is cold and pure and sweet. The entire park is one great solitude, reigned over by the wild things of the mountain.

ABOUT THE 2008 IHLRN CONFERENCE An IHLRN conference generally begins each day with a plenary session focused on group process, followed by workshop offerings throughout the day. Using a free university format, much of the conference agenda is set by the participants who offer seminars or form discussion groups. These sessions allow participants an opportunity to share research or practical experience.
The Ashland Springs Hotel is the premier choice for lodging in Southern Oregon and sits in the heart of the city - yet just minutes away from the many natural beauty that surrounds you. A two-year restoration project has transformed the property into its current vision as a haven of taste and elegance reminiscent of small European hotels.
The Ashland Springs Hotel combines the private charm of a bed and breakfast, the friendliness of a small inn, the feel of a spa resort and the safety and convenience of a full service hotel with every amenity you could wish for during your stay.
It is just steps from the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Other nearby attractions and activities include: Oregon Cabaret Theater, Lithia Park, Winery and Gallery Tours, Skiing and Snow Boarding, Golf, Fishing, Tax-Free Shopping, Dining, and pampering at the nearby Waterstone Spa. Day excursions may include a scenic drive to our sister property, Lake of the Woods Mountain Lodge & Resort--a renovated historic 1920's fishing lodge with marina and historical general store.
The open seating at all IHLRN conference meals encourages establishing new connections or re-establishing old ties. Dancing, singing and other recreational activities often take place in the evening. Our attendees individually establish the delicate balance of learning, fun, and rest to suit their needs. One day of the week is set aside as a day of rest or for sightseeing in the vicinity of the conference site. While fine dining is available at the hotel, the Ashland downtown area boasts an impressive array of restaurants serving a variety of cuisines.
