About the historical
Sebasco Harbor Resort

Located in the rocky midcoast of Maine, Sebasco Harbor Resort
is a charming piece of New England
history preserved.

The storied, 79-year-old family-minded establishment, founded by bakery magnate Nate Cushman and frequented by the likes of
Eleanor Roosevelt, continues to
attract guests from all over the world with its untouched-by-time
waterfront setting and a slate of activities that bring to mind the pleasures of yesteryear, from
lobster bakes to lawn bowling.

Great Dining at
the Resort or in the
Maine countryside area.

The tastes of Maine are an important part of your stay, and both of Sebasco's waterfront restaurants
will provide the best of what this region has to offer.

Whenever possible, their menu ingredients are organic and come straight from a local farm, fishing
boat or the farmer’s market

THE 2010 IHLRN CONFERENCE
October 3 - October 10, 2010
Sebasco Harbor Resort - Sebasco Estates, Maine

An IHLRN conference generally begins each day with a plenary session focused on group process, followed by workshop offerings throughout the day. Using a free university format, much of the conference agenda is set by the participants who offer seminars or form discussion groups. These sessions allow participants an opportunity to share research or practical experience.

For our 41st Annual Conference --- we shall return to Maine to a gorgeous ocean coast resort which Mickey Friedman found for us: Sebasco Harbor Resort. Only one hour north of Portland, Sebasco will be an exciting site for this year’s conference. Tucked away on Maine's Midcoast, the resort offers breathtaking oceanfront views over 550 acres. Nestled among whispering pines on the rugged coast lies this retreat of quiet comfort and rejuvenation where beauty and tradition abound. Sebasco is an authentic Maine destination resort with breathtaking views.

Since being taken over by new ownership in 1997, the 133-room resort has also aimed to appeal to more contemporary-minded vacationers, with updated lodgings, a high-end restaurant and activities like weekly wine tastings. The newest addition, part of the $12 million overhaul, is the Fairwinds Spa, which opened last year.

Mickey made a site visit last year there and is confident that we will all be charmed by the beauty and hospitality we will find there. Go to their beautiful website at: www.Sebasco.com to see more details.

Sebasco Harbor Resort lets you experience the freedom, natural beauty and endless outdoor recreation that are the essence of a pure Maine vacation experience. Amidst 550 acres of woodland, waterfront, gardens and golf course on Midcoast Maine is a delightful harborside village on Casco Bay.

The resort's accommodations vary from cozy to luxurious, and their cottages range from one bedroom to 10 bedrooms.

Sebasco Harbor Resort offers distinctive Maine vacation accommodations, with more than 133 guest rooms.

The rooms in Sebasco's classic Main Lodge feature views of the freshwater lake, the golf course or their beautiful gardens. At the edge of the harbor is the unique Lighthouse, which has 10 guest rooms boasting a view to Harbor Island and beyond to Casco Bay. Cottages are scattered throughout the resort’s extensive grounds, and our Harbor Village Suites and Fairwinds Spa Suites provide the ultimate luxurious experience.

Your Maine activities may include heavenly spa treatments at our waterfront Fairwinds Spa, golf, tennis, lobsterbakes, kayaking, fishing, harbor cruises, bowling, and much more are all part of the resort experience at Sebasco Harbor Resort.

This Pure Maine wonderland is closer than you think. Forget the endless drive on 95, Sebasco Harbor Resort is less than an hour from Portland; close to favorite outings like the Seadogs and L.L. Bean, and yet, when you park your car and put on your flip-flops, you may forget about ever leaving the grounds.
